cont. I Company AAR:"Before continuing the attack a Marine UH1-E helicopter landed to our immediate rear with its gas tanks full of bullet holes. Upon instructions from Battalion, a ten man squad was left to protect the UH1-E as were the tanks which were still unable to cross the trench line. We were under no fire at this time and counted about 30 VC dead in the trench line and the village. The company moved through the village and proceeded north shifting slightly to the east back into the company TAOR."
