Lt. Purnell AAR-I Co. 3/3-I Co. landed over the southern portion of beach Green-0730H An explosion occurred just as the ramps were dropping on the LVTs. No one was injured. The company formed on a line and proceeded to search the village (An Cuong 1) The only significant find was a communications wire running from the explosive point to a trench line 150 meters to the rear. It appeared as if an electrical charge was set off to disrupt our landing.
